The truth about Younique 3D fiber lash.

12:55 PM

disclaimer:
I do not sell for Younique nor do I represent them in any way.

Now, I'm not the type of girl to just bad mouth products because they're popular. I'm not a beauty hipster.
But, lately I've seen an explosion of women selling the so-called miracle mascara,
Younique's 3D Fiber Lash.
It's everywhere, but is it really what it's cracked up to be?? I've seen a lot of reviews on this miracle product, but sadly, all of the reviews I've seen have been from people that actually sell it, and that's going to be clearly a little, let's say...amped up.
The very picture that convinced me to purchase this mascara is this...

Just kidding.

But on a serious note, I saw all these women looking just so darn fabulous, and they didn't even have to glue anything onto their eyes!
I ordered the Younique mascara, and when it finally came in, I'm not going to lie, I basically felt so fancy that I couldn't even stand it. The case it came in was so Chanel like that I knew I would soon be wearing the finest fur coats with my full sex goddess level eyelashes.

So here's how it works.
1)Apply your usual mascara. I suggest something lengthening as opposed to volumizing.
2)Liberally apply the "Transplanter Gel" to your lashes, wiggling the applicator at the tips of the lashes.
3)Before the Transplanter Gel dries, brush on the 3D Fibers over your lashes.
4)Apply another coat of Gel over the Fibers, to seal them.
5)Repeat as desired.

Sounds like a huge mess, right?
Well, it's an art, to say the least.
What does it look like when it goes right? It can be fabulous.
But when it goes wrong, it goes very, very, very wrong. Let's talk pros and cons!

Pros
1. It's great if you don't have any fake eyelashes to put on for a night out, because it creates a similar look.
2. If you like the thick, dramatic, clumpy-esque lashes, this would be perfect for you.
3. It's super black, so it really makes your eye color pop.
4. It really does make your eyelashes intense, and you can make them as long as you want if you keep on piling on product.
5. It's basically waterproof, and won't come off until you want it to come off.

Cons
1. It's so hard to get off! This mascara does not simply slide off with a makeup remover wipe. Oh no, prepare to have a battle with your own eyelashes because this stuff is basically like glue, and it takes all the soap and scrubbing your little eyes can take to get it off.
2. For those of you who have the habit of picking off your mascara (hey, that's me. If I'm not thinking about it, for some reason I sit there and pick at my mascara until it's gone), BEWARE of this mascara. If you pick at this mascara, it will pull out your eyelashes. Yes, not just the mascara. The whole eyelash will come with it, which is very traumatic.
3. If you fall asleep with this mascara on, and happen to sleep with any part of your face on the pillow or elsewhere, you will wake up looking like a complete psycho. All of your eyelashes will clump together into like 3 terrifying lumps. Hope you didn't go to bed with that guy you like....

So, what's the verdict?

Younique's 3D Fiberlash can be your best friend or worst nightmare.
I may just not be good at applying it, but I'd like to think I would have figured it out by now.
I wouldn't purchase it again, but ya'll may have better luck with it.
It does NOT create the look of fake eyelashes. Only fake eyelashes create the look of fake eyelashes.
Sorry that's redundant, but somebody needed to say it.

If you like the sleek look of flawlessly applied makeup and fake eyelashes are your bestie, I wouldn't spend the money on this mascara. Just go buy a couple sets of lashes and call it a day.

If you're a newbie with makeup, and fake eyelashes scare you, try this mascara. But I highly suggest you learn how to pop on some falsies and change your life.

Hope this helped, and may your lashes always be fab.
xoxo
